Land is scarce in the urban jungle, so shelters not only need to accommodate those living within, but also provide space for their items, vehicles, and still give space for nature. Buildings become an interesting play of stacked programs and volumes. A dingbat is a typology that arose out of this need - two, to three-story boxes on top of street front parking. These projects represent dingbats we’ve designed for small urban sites that stack living spaces on top of parking and communal spaces.
